Bio

Diane Hart, Owner of Hart to Heart Fitness, (www.harttoheartfitness.org) is a Nationally Certified Fitness Professional, Personal Trainer, Health Educator, Health Specialist for Blue Shield of Northeastern New York with more than 25 years of expertise in all aspects of workforce health and wellness programming. Diane was the recipient of the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award from the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition

Diane is currently President of the National Association for Health and Fitness (www.physicalfitness.org) founded in 1979 by the U.S. President’s Council on Sports and Fitness and represents the network of Governors’ Councils and State Coalitions for Health and Fitness in the USA and its territories. She is the Chair and one of the original architects of Global Employee Health and Fitness Month (www.healthandfitnessmonth.org) which strives to make healthy the norm in the workplace.

From 2005-2009 Diane was the Director of Fitness for a New York Family Recreation Center, a state- of- the- art 79,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose fitness facility and in that position managed and developed systems that enhanced the overall operation of the health fitness department.  Diane has been a consultant since 2000 to the New York State Department of Health Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention and has facilitated the implementation of “Move for Life” at over 150 corporations, universities and colleges.  She became the architect of the Managed Care Plan joint workplace wellness project which resulted in over 17,000 individuals in eight health plans across New York State participating in “Move for Life”.

From 2009-2010 Diane was a staff trainer for nutrition and physical activity at Cornell University.  In 2009 Diane was the second individual in the United States to receive the Silver Eagle National Leadership Award from Be Active America! This award recognized Diane’s lifelong commitment to physical fitness and health promotion. She is also the recipient of the 2013 Community Leadership Award from the U.S. President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition and is an owner of a Jacki Sorensen Fitness franchise. She has designed and implemented global, national and local group fitness and corporate wellness programs for over 25 years.

Diane was recently invited to a high-level meeting of the United Nations to attend the passage of the General Assembly Resolution addressing the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases worldwide through physical activity, particularly for developing countries.
